Steering — the practice of directing home seekers toward or away from certain neighborhoods based on demographics — is illegal under Canadian human rights law and U.S. Fair Housing Act equivalents. Yet it remains a persistent problem in real estate.

Real Estate Ready is built to prevent steering by design. When a home seeker completes their wishlist, our matching algorithm shows ALL properties that meet their criteria, regardless of community or neighbourhood. There is no human intermediary filtering results.

We also ensure that our demand data is presented in aggregate. Agents see neighbourhood-level trends, not individual home seeker profiles. This prevents cherry-picking and ensures that all home seekers receive equal service.
